My first computer flight simulation was the 1979 FS1 Flight Simulator published by SubLogic. This inspired me in a quest to create a better flight simulation. As part of this quest, I continued to purchase flight simulations over the years.
The FS1 Flight Simulator was very primitive and, despite using stick models, the frame rate was so low that it was almost unflyable. Nevertheless, it did have flight instruments, such as VOR and GPS, which proved to be very helpful when I later took flying lessons.
F/A-18 Interceptor was published by Electronic Arts in 1988 for the Amiga. This may have been the first simulator to use a realistic flight model.
Fighter Duel was published by Jaeger Software for the Amiga in 1991. This was an unusual flight simulation, with excellent models of the Corsair and Zero. You could fly either aircraft and land on an aircraft carrier.
