Bob Jackson is a retired IBM engineer living in Poughkeepsie, NY. He enlisted in the Navy late in World War II and was an Aviation Electrician's Mate 3c seeing duty in a blimp squadron in southern Florida and was on Guam preparing for the invasion of Japan when the war ended. His older brother was commanding officer of VC-27-I and retired as a Rear-Admiral (2 stripe) in 1972 after 36 years of active duty. With all the memories about his brother, he decided to write what he knew about VC-27 as well as a biography about his brother (now deceased) so that his children (and his brother's children) would understand the part their uncle played in the war. Some of that information has been used in this website.
